The Texas Association of Health Plans, the statewide health care trade association representing commercial and public health insurance plans, is seeking a full-time, experienced communications director.
About our Association: The Texas Association of Health Plans is an advocacy and government relations firm representing all major health insurers, Medicare, Medicaid health plans operating in Texas. Our operations are small (staff of 6) but mighty, producing regular, comprehensive communications and advocacy materials for both the Capitol audience, our association members, and the public. We seek to inform, educate and advocate for priorities that make the health care system more accessible, navigable, transparent, and affordable for all Texans.
Overview of Position: The Director of Communications, which reports directly to the CEO, requires media relations, writing, editing, developing comprehensive communications strategies, prepping the CEO for media interviews and public speaking appearances, and producing opinion pieces, talking points, press releases, weekly newsletters and more.
